Humans are very strange creatures, they allow themselves to be led by murderous thugs who have no qualms about sending countless numbers of their own people to their deaths. If the peoples of any country rose up en masse all the dictators and rogue governments would be overthrown, albeit at considerable cost in lives. We (humans) are brainwashed and behave like sheep and are led by our noses by the masters of war.

More relevant than ever.
Shambolic and Israel have gone too far! How many of these aid workers are brothers from the rich neighbouring same religion countries?
Had Hamas any sense for sympathy of their beliefs they would let the hostages go! They won’t though because they are terrorists and don’t care about the ordinary Palestinians.
Absolutely disgraceful what the IDF are doing. It’s Genocide, been said all along.. to add insult to injury they’re already thinking about prime real estate on the Gaza strip and how much the land would be worth. Pure land grab.
One of the aid workers killed, I think is a royal marine (surname henderson).. who I think is the brother of a girl I once knew. Lovely person, and i’d hate to think if this happened how tragic this must be for their family. I’m 60% sure its her brother.
We need to stop sending weapons to them, they’re refusing to listen to any international leaders. Hamas may have taken hostages, which is just awful but you cannot dismiss the fact israel have been taking hostages too, but they call them prisoners. From what I hear is that they want to exchange, which Israel won’t. The irony in this is that Jewish have faced the very same non existential threat which they are now placing on Palestinians. That Benjamin’s needs to be tried in international court.
A really good post Regis.
Quite rightly, the Jewish people never want the Nazi war crimes forgotten and yet they allow their names to go alongside this atrocity!
What Hamas did was revolting and atrocious but this is much worse numerically.
There’s something I find deeply unlikeable about the Israeli’s.
To be fair a lot of Jewish people have been coming out in protests since last year for an end to the conflict, they’ve been mostly silenced. I’ve met quite a few jewish people over the years, every single one of them have been lovely kind hearted people. However it’s a small minority who are on the extreme side that have a different mentality (as is the case with all race, religion, and creeds). In this conflict they seemed to be going for this inhumane way to war and think they’re unstoppable. Karma may well get them. Problem is, they’ve got too many evil powerful voices we hear in our media.
It’s Israel as a nation I find unlikeable mate and not Jewish people in general.
In my 20’s I went out with a Jewish girl and her family were wonderful to me.
She actually ended up in the USA working as a high class escort and latterly as a Madame in charge of the show.
I taught her well!
🤣🤣🤣
Agree with everything on here but still question whether we should be getting involved. Nothing has changed in Afghanistan in terms of stoning - no education for girls etc etc. The Taliban also now have Western ammo/vehicles etc so some could say they are now stronger. In a nutshell we should be keeping our noses out of the Middle East.
More bothered about Putin advancing and far more Genocide in Ukraine which unlike Gaza is on our door step.
Feel heartbroken for the suffering in Gaza but where’s all the help from the rich neighbouring countries?
The atrocities that Hamas committed are unforgivable but what Israel has been doing in Gaza since under Netanyahu is unjustifiable and maybe this latest incident is at last waking more people up to his actions. Going after terrorists is one thing -and a totally legitimate aim -but not caring for the lives of innocent civilians and aid workers is another.
There IS a distinction between being anti-Semitic and being critical of Zionist expansionism. Islamic extremists who seek the destruction of Israel are abhorrent -but so are those ultra Zionists who hide behind the collective guilt felt about the horrors of the Holocaust to peruse their own ends. I am in no way saying that Israel is behaving on a par with the Nazis but the longer this wilful disregard for innocent Palestinian lives goes on in Gaza, the more it begins to look like genocide. Regis mentioned the recent bragging by some Israelis about subsequent land grabbing in Gaza but has there ever really been too much difference between Zionist (illegal) expansion into Palestinian lands over the years and the Nazi policy of Lebensraum ?
Hopefully internal pressures may force Netanyahu from power soon. His right wing policies and reforms of the judicial system were hardly universally liked beforehand but his failure to protect Israel from the heinous attacks from Hamas in the first place, the open secret that he even gave support to them as part of his aim to disrupt Palestinian unity, his failure to secure the release of hostages and now the growing condemnation from even key Western allies will surely be his undoing.
Whilst I agree that Russia and China, along with Islamic extremism, are the biggest security threats to ourselves and so we should be more concerned with what is happening in Ukraine than in Gaza, Netanyahu is little different than Putin and so still deserves our condemnation. Besides, what is happening in Gaza clearly does still affect us in other ways as all the furore over the protests and increases in both anti-Semitism and Islamophobia prove. Both need to be dealt with but this will almost inevitably mean that the government will have to review its stance on Gaza and the level of support it gives to Israel.
