Scouting - do they know what they are doing?

Where are the Andy Lochead’s and Willie Irvine’s these days. Surely if we could find them years ago we can find them these days with such fantastic scouting systems. Come on you scouts do your job.

Look at the City & Liverpool reserves and players coming through their youth ranks.

That's where our best hopes go -:not Gawthorpe.

Our scouting system is another good advertisement for AI.

I’m not sure how this is pertinent Lancaster like everything else in football - money and the big boys dictate.

So stumbling on the cream would be absolute luck and even if we had him early doors say early ****s the big boys would be approaching him and liking to sign as they could offer things we couldn’t.

I have an example from a friend of mines son who was at Rovers but went to City and is going to be a superstar ( literally ) I’ve posted about him before.

It literally is all about the money.

I agree Army-its all about the dosh-and that is why the game is predictable at the top level. Before this season started a blind man and his dog could have told you Liverpool,Citeh or the Gunners will win the league. It is boring and I honestly believe it is unsustainable.
They may as well start the European Super League. We all know which teams would be in it as its the same ones as the last twenty years in each country.

Army don’t disagree with you but the one thing we could offer is early opportunity to reach the first team and put them in the shop window and sell at a good profit. That is how we used to do it.

There are around 4000 professional footballers playing in England. Our squad is better than reasonable and I'll wager the bookies are not offering silly odds on us not going straight back up next season.

Supersub6 has it right, worry not, we will be back.

BT, I never said that we will back, just not to worry about anything ---it's only a game and you win some and lose some. I do not do predictions because there are too many outside influences involved.
Talking of scouting, didn't we get rid of most of our scouts a couple of seasons ago when Alan Pace took the reins or ------did they resign? There is something in the back of my mind about our scouts or lack of them.
