    That penalty!

There is no doubt that we were more than fortunate to be awarded a penalty last night as firstly, it wasn’t handball and secondly, it was outside the area. I accept that it’s ’swings and roundabouts’ but that was as bad a decision as I’ve seen in years. I realise that there is no VAR but why didn’t the referee consult the linesman? We have to be honest and say that we would be absolutely furious if that decision had been given against us.

Don't think anyone can disagree with you. Some decisions go against you but they tend to at least look quite close whereas this one was shocking in that the player was so clearly not in the area. I'm surprised that the linesman didn't pick it up-but if he did, isn't he required to inform the referee rather than only say something if the ref is in some doubt and consults him?

Whilst Rotherham have every right to feel aggrieved I don't think it would have changed the final result of the game though and they know this. It's true that at 1-0 up we were still nervy as they had created chances to get back into the game but our better quality would have come through and I'm sure we would still have got a second goal to cushion the lead.

I would’ve been embarrassed to have accepted that penalty.

It’s one of the worst decisions I’ve ever seen, those officials are not fit for purpose and should be sacked from pro football.

Then again, Sunday football doesn’t deserve them either.

Pretty sure this was the same ref who missed Kipre's fantastic one handed save versus QPR. Then again he wasn't the only one. Even the QPR players thought Palmer had saved it. And in real time so did I 😃 .

About as bad a refs decision you’ll ever see. (Have I inadvertently inspired another thread?)
