    Being rewardd for ineptitude

    So, we have two referees of Championship games, who are apparently blind, being "promoted" to officiating at Premiership games;

    So commit a blatant f00k-up, and the footballing authorities reward you. Could happen only in the UK.

    Maybe the logic was they were in need of VAR support 🤣

    At what point will var appear in the championship, love it or loathe it, it would have given us at least one penalty on Tuesday night, can’t recall where we would have penalised in previous games, although the usual cooper tug might have done us a couple of times.

    It may even cost us promotion but I sure don't miss VAR.

    at some point, if a ref is poor enough, it's not going to matter if you have VAR or not. I didn't feel this guy was a homer. He just reeked of incompetence. It's stunning that he moved up to this level. It does show just how poor the FA is at developing talent.

    The FA won't do anything about him because other options are even worse or unproven. They basically just suck at doing even the most basic functions. they are corrupt to the core.

    With you 100% - the VAR slows the game down too much and takes responsibility away from the on field officials. Rub of the green has always been a thing in sport.

    Can’t see it happening soon as the cost of the infrastructure and better quality cameras needed might be beyond some clubs means.
