    Sweet Stadium idea video

    Alreeet all.

This popped up on NUFC News feed.

Some nice Stad-p0rn ideas of what SJP could look like.

Eddie at Tyneside Life has provided a great update with 7 videos in a series. Obvs the move to the park is a no but further up toward the castle there are options. He talks about Castle Leazes in video 3. Also updates in this 7th video he talks about the other development at Castle Leazes. Basically it's a no but could happen, very unlikely though.

Eddie's been extremely thorough and interviewed all kinds of stakeholders in his video series. One very important person Eddie has had several details discussions with is Marion Williams.

Marion is a local councilor, sits on the planning committee for Newcastle, she's a season ticket holder at SJP, she lives in Leazes Terrace and chair of the 'Friends of Leazes' conservation group. She was recently appointed as Vice Chair of the NUFC Fan Advisory Board.

A perfect candidate to work with all parties to get the best for the Club, the fans & the city without steamrollering out civil heritage.

Looks like a new stadium will be built on the SJP site, moved about 30-40m into Leazes park to accommodate a major expansion of the Gallowgate End, moving the footprint of the stadium up the hill a bit.

The Leaze Terrace stand will be shaped like the Aviv in Ireland, with one low side to maintain their access to light.

Interesting stuff, nothing is gonna kick off until after the 2028 Euros anyway so we got a good amount of time to plan it all.

Gonna be interested to see how it all works out!

Option C looks absolutely wonderful. The stadium itself looks fantastic. It also really preserves the look and feel of Leazes Terrace. Pity its unlikely.

I wonder how long we wouldn’t be able to play at SJP with option 3?

Going by the whole phase 1 phase 2 thing I'm guessing the idea is we continue at St James' through phase 1 and then move in to the 3/4 built new stadium during phase 2. I would think they would have similar capacities at that point.

That would have to be a massive plus to choose this option!!

Having Marion involved is a massive coup.

As Eddie points out in his video. If we can move the club 30-40m up the hill into the park without actually having an impact on the grade 1 listed bandstand and terrace then we will be able to enlarge the foot print of the ground and grow the capacity & exec facilities to accommodate average fan as well as the prawn sandwich mob without damaging the world famous atmosphere.
