    Swans v Burnley U-21 today.

Lovely day for a game at the excellent Swansea City Academy , around the corner from the main stadium. Pitch was like a bowling green, and all we needed was some goals to go with it. Clarets took the lead with a dodgy penalty by Tommy McDermott, when the ball was long gone before the collision ,involving the Swans “keeper. VAR would have been interesting for sure. In the second half, Swansea upped the pace and deservedly equalised. The game seemed to be fizzing out for a draw when up popped Tom Tweedy to get the winner. His family from down the road in Bridgend were ecstatic when the ball beat the keeper all ends up, and clinched the win at the same time. There was very little” playing out from the back” by Casper in goal, he preferred to clear it up the pitch instead. Neither goalkeeper had too much to do, as both teams were short of ideas around the edge of the box. The player who stood out for us was number 6, Hugill. He was in the thick of the action and was always getting stuck in For the whole game I was sat next to the First Team Coach of National League South, Chippenham Town . He told me he’d come to “take in the game.” I suspect there was more to it than that ! All in all, an interesting afternoon, the result making the journey worthwhile for everyone concerned.

Must have been sweet for Tom Tweedy who I believe was released from Swansea.City at some point.
