If you remember Pete Quinn (aka Rainbow) we used to go to Manchester to watch bands like Led Zepp and Ten Years After while we were still at St. Ted's. Yup, headbanger I was.

Great stuff. I do remember Pete. I saw Tull in Manchester back in the day, and Captain Beefheart. The less said about the latter, the better.

I saw him a couple of months ago in Swansea. Superb night which featured all the “timeless songs” that we all went to hear., spanning the back catalogue of hits they were famous for. “ Forever Autumn” being my favourite out of all of them.

Excellent, mal. He is a superb performer. Never disappoints. .

Good choices, sinkov. I lived next door to Keith Emerson in the Bahamas. Super guy and lovely family. It was a sad day when he committed suicide.

Yes, sinkov. It was early 1980’s when he and Elinor were still married, with their two children. It was the time that ELP recorded “Love Beach” at the recording studios at Love Beach on New Providence.

He had a lovely boat called “Fingers” that had a brilliant sound system. You could hear him coming up to the dock from quite a distance!

I saw ELP only once at The Oval around the time of Tarkus. Great band.

I hadn't heard much of the Captain back then, no internet or Spotify or anything, the only chance you got to hear the likes of Beefheart was OGWT or possibly John Peel, so I went out and bought TMR, suffice to say what a waste of money that was, although I have heard it described as a work of art performed by a genius and his Magic Band. Magic Band my arse.
