Bruno Release Clause - Positive News

Bruno Guimarães’ £100m release clause will only be valid from the last week of May to the beginning of the last week of June, according to Fabrizio Romano.
Afterwards, Newcastle would have total control of the price and potential negotiations.

IF true - and I do generally trust what FR comes out with, this is def smart working of the contract.

It is smart as it’d give us time to reinvest in the squad before the window shuts. Of course he’d also have to want to leave which he shows no signs of.

Is the idea to give us time to get a replacement if he did go?

I would assume that the release clause of £100m would be a 1 time up front payment too.

That narrows down the amount of clubs that can afford that kind of money in 1 go.

Also, this goes into current financial year.
So the interested club should have remaining budget after two transfer windows

Aye - as has been pointed out this means it has to all be done before the turnover of Fair Play monies. Meaning that any prem club would have to stick £100 million on this years budget, which would be a stretch for most now.

Absolutely. It's a big ask financially. Not that it stops the rumour muppets in the MSM nonchalantly spouting ill-informed nonsense in patronising terms at Obviously all the top players can't wait to get away from the club.

They don't do any back ground info just hold the same belief that our club is the basket case we were under Ashley or the Soap Opera we were under Hall/Sheppard.

It's not the case, as we all know, the clubs is stable, the squad is balanced and happy. There is a great esprit de corps from fans to boardroom.

The main stream muppets just can't stand that when their darlings, ManUre & Chelsea are in disarray.

Arsenal have ran city close this season but they are 'specialists in failure'. Chelsea is a complete basket case. Man U are 5 yrs away from being a force to challenge for a title and be serious in Europe IF they do everything correctly, which, we all know, they won't.

We have a way smaller expense than, Villa, Chelsea, Man U, Spurs, who are direct competitors as I see if for the 4th UCL spot.

Realistically which clubs CAN afford £100m for Bruno or £125m for Isak?

City, Real - Definitely have the finances. We'll have to see what happens with City's case.

Maybe Man U but that will be their whole budget, Chelsea & Liverpool possibly same as Man U.

Barcelona no chance they are broke AF.

No Italian club can afford it.

Bayern Munich but they don't have a history of spending those kinds of sums on single players. They usually rob one of the lower Bundeliga teams for their talent. Dortmund, Levekusen etc.

So I have to think 'Who needs Bruno/Isak'?

Real don't need a Striker or a CMF at all. M'Bappe is going to Madrid they are already stacked with talent in the front line & the same in the Midfield.

Neither do City. Isak would be behind Haaland and possibly Julián Álvarez. He's No.1 here at NUFC and will lead the line as long as he is at the club.

Going anywhere else is a side ways move.

With a fully fit first 11 for 75% of the season + 3-4 players of that top top quality we'll be challenging for those top 4 spots.

    ***EDIT***

I forgot the mention PSG. Again financially I guess their commercials enable them to have unlimited budgets in the market, as we have seen since the Neymar transfer & the hilarious sums they have been paying M'Bappe. However, if you are Bruno why oh why would you take a step down from a Premier League team to play against Farmers?

    The French league is garbage.

I do agree about PSG but there has been lots of paper talk about them making a bid.

It could be that is them trying to flush some interest from him (albit the purchase of a new £4 milion house suggests no interest) but it is a possible.

It would guarentee him trophies and he could stay for a few seasons and then still go to Spain/England etc.

I don't think he would but worth pointing out.
