    Golden Boot Langstaff and more

Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere and apologies if I've missed it.

However for all that is there a top 7 finish eluded us.

Macaulay Langstaff has won the 2023-24 Sky Bet League Two Golden Boot.

The number nine marked his first season in the EFL with a wonderful 28-goal haul, beating Wrexham’s Paul Mullin (24) and Salford City’s Matt Smith (24).

Langstaff received his trophy after full-time in our final-day match against Forest Green, with Jodi Jones also adding to his ever-growing trophy collection with the receipt of our Players’ Player of the Season award – as well as an Outstanding Achievement award in recognition of his incredible total of 24 assists – a record in English football.

This followed Jones and Langstaff’s attendance at the recent EFL awards, where both players were named in the League Two Team of the Season and Jones was awarded the division’s Payer of the Season trophy.

I was always of the opinion that he would stay with us for next season at least. A great bloke who has a great attitude.

This is a BBC prepared interview and the club will have PR managed it to death. He says it will take ‘something incredible’ and in all other press releases the club say they ‘don’t need to sell’. This is day 1 PR training for inflating price. No chance he plays for us again but let’s hope the price inflating tricks work.

Always thought the captain should be looking forward at the team and not backwards so probably not for me.
