If we sell £8.5m worth of defenders, we should realistically see £3/4m in either signing fees or wages reinvested back into the squad - how much have we spent back in to the playing side ?

Since their tenure the cash balance of the business is gone and we’ve sold many a player for a decent fee

Renno, that’s the principle but it’s never like that is it? Every clubs looking for the players they can make a turn on and you have to be a pretty astute coach to do that and you certainly can’t rely on it every season as a way to further your club. Furthermore, if you’ve any vision to take the club upwards you can’t afford to keep selling your best players or keep changing your manager. It takes time to build a squad and to keep decimating it every year smacks of either an unambitious owner or one who hasn’t the money to run the club in the first place.

Tell that to the owners! For me it’s a combination of youth and experience- all of the best sides that have gone down in history have had it . All supposition but it’s possibly both of those things!

All players are available for sale. That is the business model.

We dealt with Coventry at just the right time as they were awash with funds having sold Gyokeres for £20 million and Hamer to Sheff Utd for a fee well in excess of £10 million. Robins knew the Barnsley set up and bought Kitching, Collins and Thomas (from parent club Burnley)

Does anyone actually believe that these forward thinking directors are going to employ old fashioned ex managers such as Warnock, Wilson or McCarthy ???
    No chance.

No but this guy is heavily tipped to be our next HC .

This isn't good news for you either , he's a possession type HC and it also throws your Barnsley Way out of the window , just as many of us have tried telling you .

Who are you going to blame now YN ?

I’d be extremely surprised if they employed another tippy tappy style HC.
I think the fans at the games would go crackers if they did.
It seems that it’s only on this message board that tippy tappy Collins has any level of support.

If the club has approached Thalhammer but failed to land him - then they will be looking for someone else in that mould.
    Vertical football.
    Counterattack.
    Swarm.
    High press.

Personally I’d hope that Ismael would return.
Same players - top of the league.
