Yes definitely. If the person is killing an innocent person like this guy or the Lee Rigby incident for example the police should fire a shot to the head. The Aussie policewoman in the shopping mall did the right thing and took the nutter out - permanently!

Not for me Lloyd, I know a local copper who’s a firearms policeman and so is his wife, guns need to be in the hands of the highly trained officers.

If we arm all police we’ll see a massive increase in the number of lowlife carrying guns and incidents of armed violence will increase.

I would certainly arm more police but not every beat bobby, each station should have at least a couple of gun officers available.

We are going to have to be careful we don’t end up making things worse when the reality actually is that these incidents are mercifully rare.

Surely we could use rubber bullets as well as tasers before resorting to guns.

It wouldn’t matter if coppers all carried guns, that poor lad would still have died yesterday and the first couple of coppers would possibly have been caught by surprise.

Whatever we do we will never eradicate this type of event.

I remember going to Feurteventura 20 years ago and weeks previously an innocent shopper had had her head chopped off with a machete whilst in a supermarket.

    This stuff is so random.

I also don’t trust all of our police and don’t feel that all of them are competent either.

    I know Lloyd.

One of my best footballing mates Ben Morse was murdered in a targeted hit and run in Halesowen about 5 years ago by an Albanian lowlife.

A few months ago Cody Fisher who played for Stourbridge FC a season or two ago was knifed to death in that night club in Brum.

Gun toting cops wouldn’t have prevented either incident though, these terrible things will always happen.

They happen more in the USA and all cops carry guns.

Many police are armed already ( not beat cops ). Take Harrogate there’s a load of armed cops in vehicles mainly because of Menwith Hill,

Like the Aussie woman cop who was a hero - if a nutter is knifing or shooting people then there’s any armed police on the scene - they should aim for the head and take them out. The guy in nottingham who stabbed to death those two university students should have been shot dead. Stuff any mental health issues when innocents have been killed. Take them out!

Yes but it would not have stopped any of these people dying.

The shooting would be retribution only and would get challenged by the human rights Nazis.

I’m all for eradicating scum but everyone mentioned so far would still be dead.

Your not wrong there. We have a Garda Response Unit (GRU) over here who get called out in situations needing fire arms.
We have had about three cases in the last few years where a male (usually) has been killed by the unit.

FFS.....It ends up in the Garda been suspended pending an investigation for unlawfull killing. Cases last for ages and usually ends with the Garda leaving the unit. The law is not properly in place for police to carry for arms.
It's mayhem for the individual police officer involved.

Recently in London many fire arm specialised police handed back their gun licence because the "law" was used against them. Criminal law is actually stacked against law providers.
They are like NAZI laws alright. That guy yesterday will have a metal evaluation examination done before he goes near a court of law.

FFS....Everyone of living today has mental issues. It's part of life. We all have hear voices in our head.

    There called your F U C K I N G thoughts.

No, I have mates in the force, they have all said if they were ever forced to carry firearms they would leave, you would be surprised how many rapid support teams do carry guns, particularly in our cities. Had officers yesterday carried guns then them it wouldn’t have saved the boy who died, may have saved the policewoman being injured but would have likely resulted in the attacker being killed.

    100% absolutely not.

More guns = more gun deaths.

I don't trust each and every policeman to use them properly either.

The last thing we should be doing is copying anything the Americans do on gun laws.
