I would play Asante as I think that we look a more balanced unit when he is in the side. Wallace just isn’t a striker and to my mind has done little in that position to warrant selection. Personally, I would go with yesterday’s starting X1.

Looking at Southamptons stats they actually have better stats than Leicester. Best team in the league for possession, shots on target, for example so I think we really have to stop them playing their game. Nullify their effectiveness. They also have the most missed chances so if we can stop them playing we can get some good results. We have to play our very best. It’s doable.

We go into the game as underdogs everyone expects Southampton to win. We need to use that as fuel. Nothing is written and certainly not in the playoffs. COYB!

I agree, we are underdogs, but don’t underestimate Carlos’ ability to engineer success. Yes, many of us thought that he made a mistake in his selection against Sheffield Wed. but overall he’s not done too badly has he? If you look back two seasons, he nearly got an ordinary Huddersfield side into the Premiership. A close friend of mine, a Forest fan, admitted to me that Huddersfield had two stonewall penalties turned down which would have changed the face of the game. Let’s hope that he can get it right for us.

I would definitely play Asante up front. We all know that he is a poor finisher however, he has pace and puts defenders under more pressure than Wallace who is a little lightweight. Fellows and Johnson must start on either flank and Diangana should be used as an impact substitute.

Good post and you’re right as they were the best team at our place. Saying that we gave them two gifts for goals at their place and deserved a draw.

As you say stop them playing football even if it means a bit of nastiness. Convert any chances - don’t concede silly goals and we can win. Each player needs to run their socks off.

Does this comment sound familiar on the Saints thread?

    Excited.

Playoffs are a win/win for me as I’m really not fussed about going back up. I hate the PL, VAR, fake fans, media circus. Championship is much more my cup of tea.

Which means if we win, I will be happy for the clubs finances and winning at Wembley. If we lose, we get more seasons of proper football. Happy days
