This in a nutshell. Definitely the brains behind Wayne Rooney's Derby County in my opinion and he started the season well with a decent squad.

Judging by post match interviews he then disappeared so far up his own backside he couldn't see how to exploit the attacking potential available to him post January.

Given the layout the owners would have expected a top six finish and very likely pointed this out before they topped a decent squad up even further.

He's a young coach with promise who can come again in time but he messed up this season. And being brutally honest I doubt his nomination for Manager of the Season had much do with his 'achievement' of ultimately finishing outside of the top six either 😉.
