How good was that? I can't believe we can now ask...can we make it 6 wins on the trot? - view external link (www.motherwell-mad.co.uk/rprt/mtch/happy_happy_new_year_at_fir_park_820272/index.shtml)

A great performance and a very enjoyable game, the Perth Saints are a decent side. Wonderful applause for the team in the final minutes.

Vigurs was very classy today and the back 4 did a good job on May and co

Thanks to Dan, our short but athletic loan goalie. Bit of pressure on Gunnar on Saturday...

Lots of credit to McCall, Black and the senior players, 5 wins with improving performances is a wonderful response to the Albion Rov debacle

An excellent result. I thought every player had a positive game – no weak performances. Disappointing attendance given our league position and the fact we are on such a good winning run. Must be frustrating for the club hierarchy, SM and the players. Everyone needs to try and encourage as many of our family/pals to get along to FP as we can. Let’s hope we can keep this great run going and, in some way, make up for the deep disappointment of the Cup.

That was immense today, can't remember the last time I felt so entertained. Our football was a joy to watch. Vigurs (a player I have often critisised) was excellent today. It just shows you the difference the whole team gets when we have more than Lasley working in midfield. If Vigurs played like that in even 60% of our games I'd be happy with him.

Well done to everyone at the club thoroughly professional and entertaining performance.

I'm afraid with money so tight supporters will walk when things go wrong and not come back. Our shocking cup performances will have driven at least 5 / 600 supporters away from our league games. Other than die hands floating fans will have decided we have nothing to play for and to be fair I can't blame them.

Mix – you could well be correct but it is sad that some people think that when sitting second in the league we ‘have nothing to play for.’ I can look back to some dreadful spells when we were down the bottom or relegated and going to places like Forfar and Arbroath and, compared to that, we have been spoiled by the last few seasons’ performances. Hopefully, the team can keep up their good performances and get a few of the disillusioned fans to return.

It was a superb result and performance from all the team today and it could and should have been more. It really is a pity that Twardzik is now heading back to Dundee as he's looked by far the best of the three keepers we've used this season and the defence look to have a great deal more confidence in him than they do with the other two.

On the point of attendance and having nothing to play for, that's something that I tend to agree with. We're not going to win anything and we're not getting relegated and regardless of how high up in the table we finish we make a loss financially. If we qualify for Europe you'll forgive me for not getting excited about that because we have never and will never do anything of note there.

While this winning run has been excellent, yet again it is tinged with frustration for me because yet again, just like last season, we have 'clicked' when out of the Cups and exited both in a pathetic manner. I think that just goes to illustrate the point that I have

Although I am still sick about being out cups it is time to move on its a new year and we can't turn the block back so it's time people started getting behind the club again. To say we have nothing to play for is rubbish we have to try and get in top 6 then top 3 if possible then maybe even 2nd place.Football is about entertainment and Motherwell are currently entertaining so that should be a reason in itself for going to the games I have been surprised by the turnaround in our form as we do now look like a good team again and showing flashes of last seasons performances and long may it continue and if it does hopefully some of the disgruntled fans will soon be back at fir park and getting value for their money

Is it just me that does not understand the attitude "We have nothing to play for, ONLY finishing second"

We are MOTHERWELL fans, how many times have we won the cup, how many times have we even been to the final. If this was the reason we supported the team, we might as well give up now.

Like many I have been a 'Well fan almost all my life, and I honestly think people are now becoming complement about finishing second in the league.

I have the exact opposite view. I believe that proving we are a better team than those than richer than us, is a massive thing. Any run in the cup is a Bonus

A great win yesterday. All credit to Stuart McCall and the players for turning things around after that awful week a month ago. 5 wins on the trot is quite an achievement given that 3 games were away from home and we also played 2 of our rivals in the top six.

The team is now beginning to gel and settle into a pattern. Currently we are getting results and playing entertaining football. What is there not to like? Ainsworth is on a roll just now and his pace is allowing us to counterattack very effectively - something that was missing earlier in the season.

Yesterday we could have won 8-3 and credit to Saints they made it an entertaining and open game. For me the pick of the bunch were Twardzik, Vigurs and Ainsworth. Its good too to see so many different players scoring.

I'm looking forward to watching McManus' chalked off goal on the BBC (if they deem it worthy of inclusion in the highlights that is).

Whilst I can't disagree with much of what you say much of what you say is said from the viewpoint of a "diehard". What I would say is most of Motherwells diehards are probably still going. Its the other 500 - 1000 support

Thought we were different class yesterday, 4 0 actually flattered st j yesterday, not that they played badly, they're a decent side. We seem to have a few players hitting form now. Iv'e been quite a critic of vigurs but thought he played really well yesterday, and ainswoth has got the bit between his teeth also. On that form i hope we can keep hold of him until the end of the season. Good to see faddy coming on to a game and showing what he can do. Lets hope we can keep the run going against caley on saturday.

Its probably not just you mate but im just trying to explain why some folk are not knocking the gates down to get in. Any spectator sport should be a competition to generate interest. There isnt a sport in the world that will pull them in with the excitement of finishing second. For the life of me I cant see what there is to be excited about if w
