Nice to see our ex-manager stuffing premier league Villa, be nice to get the Blades in the next round.

Yes very pleased to see him do well but would prefer the other ex manager ( the tired looking little fat fella) in the next round. I feel a game against shef Utd is one of those no win situations

We won't be in the next round so I wouldn't worry about it.

Is it? Personally I could care less. Especially as it's Sheffield United.

If you like to see our ex managers do well, I assume you will be happy if Forest are inspired by Billy Davis to victory over West Ham?

I think the club and the supporters owe a huge vote of thanks to Clough, he saved the club from the disaster that the fat dwarf put it in.

Shame he could never do that with us, he only ever wanted to draw a bigger club so he could go out the cups.

Still I suppose it shows his lack of ambition whilst he was with us, he has something to prove now,

Hi roger, yes I am delighted to see him do well at another club. The main reason being, it means he's not our manager any more. But as much as I wanted rid of him it doesn't mean I disliked him, I just didn't think he was a great manager that's all

Nigel's contribution was more mixed than you will ever admit.
I don't want him to do badly but praising Sheff Utds result on here is using the wrong board.

While I will always be grateful for what he did, I still remember some painful cup games.

In his interview NC still believes in the magic of the cup. He must have missed the magic when non league Crawley put us out. - view external link (http://www1.skysports.com/football/news/11683/9102181/fa-cup-sheffield-united-boss-nigel-clough-enjoys-shock-win-at-aston-villa)

I think the consensus of most of us on here was that Nigel had run his course with the Rams. Personally I would have waited until the end of the season to let him go, but his cup record here was abysmal and our league record under his long tenure never suggested that we were serious candidates for promotion.

Having said that, he built a strong foundation of talented young players and I never felt like we were getting any less than 100% from Nigel at any time in his years here. I have great respect for the man and wish him well at the Blades.

As for McClaren, only time will show the wisdom (or lack thereof) of bringing him in when we did. So far so good, but we will need some shrewd dealing from Steve this month in the transfer market to shore up our promotion challenge and the continued positive development of

Why is it so terrible for people to wish Clough well. He may be gone but he did an amazing job on a shoe string some can't comprehend as they really don't know how tougher job it is. Clough did amazingly at burton and if he continues in how he's started at Sheffield United and even better will it show what could have been with the right backing and support?

I don't wish Jewell or Davies well in the slightest but considering what he achieved and in mine and others opinion the wrong way his tenure was ended at derby I do wish him well and will look out to see how he's doing!
