Told you so.

Before this tour started I said they were an unbalanced team lacking in bottle.

A team where "mates" are picked before talent. A team where we fiddle about with batting lineups just to get KP in the team.

Still, they got to have a great holiday in Oz, so there's always a plus point.

Time for a wholesale clear out of the old guard.

Incidentally, the football team will perform just as badly in Brazil.

When we, the English sporting public decided to shun 'traditional format' cricket of the County Championship in favour of huge support for the 'non cricket' of 1 day slogs, 20/20 bashes and lots of razmataz...then we, in effect condemned and destroyed Test Match cricket.

People demand instant entertainment these days and the beauty of a batsman 'shutting shop' for a day and a half in a test match to get a draw is sadly, a skill long gone, as everyone clammers to see slogging all day long from the 1st ball to the last.

If we give support to 4 day County Cricket in the same numbers as we do slogging non cricket, then our Test Team will improve as they develop skills and craft to help them stay at the wicket longer...without scoring too many runs...a ***** but neglected skill these days.
If we continue to shun County Cricket, it then becomes the height of hypocracy to over criticise Test Match performance levels. The performance skills of test cricket just cannot be progressed to the le
