What's this all about? Is it a West coast thing?

It can sometimes be eaten just after the bells.

I only really noticed it for the first time this year (few mates, all from Glasgow or Ayrshire, telling me they were having steak pie).

Never heard of it before.

That's weird, I've heard of a few folk doing it in Edinburgh. I'd never heard of it before moving here and assumed it was an Embra thing. :?

Hawick's a backwater. They'll start having steak pie in a few years.

Maybe it is.

I just wondered. I googled it and the answers all seem to suggest it's a Scotland wide thing.

I never really associate that day with eating at all. Just drinking.

Steak pie at hogmanay is the only reason i plod through a year, if the missus said there was no steak pie, i'd probably wreck the joint.
