Just watched "12 years a slave"

phuck me, I thought django unchained was hard hitting, the slave trade in the deep south was brutal beyond words, how people could do that to other humans is absolutely heartbreaking

9 out of 10, worth watching, but hard to endure for the cruelty, and its based on the book the protagonist wrote. :blue:

It's the time of the year where you get all the DVD screeners for the Golden Globes and such like.

I went to the pictures to see American Hustle on Saturday, really enjoyed it, it's long though (about 2 & a half hours).

Jennifer Lawrence should be looking at another Oscar for it, brilliant performance.

American Hustle was a disappointment.

The music was good, the two main ladies were great and Bale's acting was good...

...however, for spells it was fairly turgid and only really woke up near the end.

Bradley Cooper wasn't convincing either - similar to McMoist, he's now living off his 'cheeky smile'.

BertrandRussell

I've seen both of those. Sightseers was well funny. Kill List is a bit like Get Carter mixed with The Wicker Man. Pretty weird.

BertrandRussell

Yes, it is. I can see why people take it for free but it would be hypocritical of me to do so. I only spend ?5.99 a month on lovefilm and buy a CD every two or three weeks, so I'm hardly out of pocket because of it.

Unfortunately, it's not really the musicians who get the money these days anyway.
