a number of features have been disabled while the upgrade is completed. There are moves to only allow login via email registered with footymad (I would suggest you confirm your details with a live current email as soon as possible) and perhaps allowing logging in via Facebook account.

That sounds well dodgy with some of the sheep who run their forum and that bloke with the gargantuan wife who moderates the Dundee forum kicking about.
