Provisional confirmation from FIFA General Secretary Jerome Valcke that World Cup 2022 will be played between mid November and mid January..

The whole thing is a complete farce. FIFA seem to be doing their utmost to devalue their own competition, whilst wreaking havoc to domestic schedules around the world in the process. :blue:

Domestic competitions should carry on regardless. There's no mid season break for the African Cup of Nations. The World Cup has no more status in my mind.

If you're a club blessed with a surfeit of foreign internationals then you must be rich and successful with vast resources so it won't make much difference if you lose a few players for a few weeks mid season.

The FA should give FIFA the stiff middle finger, but they won't of course.
