I would say that at least 50-60% of all top league footballers are gay but why should they need to come out about it as did Hitzleberger and the first to do so, Justin Fashanu? You don't hear of snooker players professing to be gay any more than you hear rugby players doing the same.

Just the usual media sensationalism yawn ...

Sorry Amer have you really just stated that up to 60% of top league footballers are gay?

So out of every 1000 top league footballers, 600 are gay?

Did you really just say that, do you really really really believe that aswell?????????

You'd be surprised how many are actually bi***ual or gay mate. They just hide it well.

But why should their ***uality be such a big issue in the media?

IMO the media just likes to create a stir and we should just yawnnnn and ignore them.

Not sure I should ask how you are so certain of this. ;D

Seriously why should the percentage of football players who are gay be any different to whatever the national average is supposed to be? And I'm fairly sure it's not as high as you say.

The general percentage for homo***uals is 6% ie 6 in every 100 so by the law of averages there should be about 30 premier league puffs in the combined first team squads of all the premier league sides

If we acceppt your figure of 6%, that does not mean that 6% of footballers are so inclined any more than you can say 6% of male hairdressers are thus so. :?

The media do like to hype a story. One of the Redtops had a lead "Prem star gay" blah blah.

The fact he has retired from the game and gave an interview to a german publication. Some papers are questioning his gayness and are describing him as bi***ual.

As the meat and potatoes of the story concern events several years past, I think he is a retro***ual. In the article I read, there was some reference to Gay Pride, but I confused the term with Mothers Pride and turned the page, thinking wrongly as it turned out, that flour was being used as a cheap alternative to talcum powder.

Apparently the gravity of the confession, was deemed newsworthy enough for the prime minister to give his opinion. And I suppose if that's the wurst that can happen then there may be more salacious tabloid stories in the offing.
