Class player. But was another scapegoat by some fans. Maybe he is more of a realistic target

He'll do for me. Before his injury, the fans at
Bristol absolutely loved him.

If we got him back here, AND fans gave him a
chance, then I think he'd do well

No thanks, was never a fan.

A scapegoat for what? He only had half a season where he looked a decent L2 player.

Not keen. Needs to be going out to get games to gain match fitness, can we afford to take anyone on like that? We need someone already fit and who is fairly sharp to put the ball in the net.

"Taylors time at Ashton Gate has been tarnished by serious injury and he has made just 42 appearances in two-and-a-half seasons, scoring two goals"

Yep, sounds just the sort of player we need...

To be fair, 5000 of our new fans won't have seen him before so he could have a fresh start.

He isn't a prolific goalscorer though. His hold up play and passing is quality but we need a goalscorer.

He's better than Revell

*was going to add - he scores more - but even a monkey would score more eh?

He scored two beauties at Wembley though! ;D

We could always sign him on a 2 year deal, and then send him out on loan to Bury in 2 months time

In the recently televised Cup match v Tamworth, he looked well off the "pace".

Rated him when he was here, but not for me now.

Best of luck Ryan hope you get fixed up somewhere!!

Depends whether Bury want him on loan or not.

He might be gong to Portsmouth

Prior to his injuries he was a class player. That's why Bristol came in and bought him from us (by tribunal) when they were in the championship. He had a good all round game. We're I use to sit at dvs people use to slag him off even when he scored!!

No ta, would be good to have some competition for Revell but it's not a priority.

Plus think there's too many of the idiots still support us, was disgraceful the treatment Taylor got half the time people were moaning before he'd even touched the ball.

Just signed for Pompey

Portsmouth have completed the triple signing of Ryan Taylor from Bristol
City, and Jake Jervis and Nicky Shorey, who were both free agents.

Never fulfilled his potential due to illness and injuries...looked a great prospect as a young kid and made his first team debut AHEAD of Will Hoskins...great performance for us in the play-off final, but rarely strung together two consecutive decent performances, and looked fairly awful in that recent televised Bristol C. cup tie against non-league opposition (in fact he hardly touched the ball)...so, sadly, "NO"

Hoskins made his first sub appearance in Nov 2003. He made his first start August 2004. He made 40 appearances before Taylor made his debut in December 2005. I rate Taylor but he was never close to Hoskins in talent and potential.

Both have the same bad luck though.

Good luck to him, would be nice to do well again.

Sorry, my mistake re debuts... you could never fault Ryan for effort/bravery though...I remember a reserve game at Millmoor when he had his head badly cut in a clash and was covered in blood...the ref almost had to drag him off the pitch to get the cut stitched up - he wanted want to carry on playing!
