They are persisting with a manager who appears to be universally disliked by the club's fans, irrespective of the absurd spin from certain sources, including er Sam, that it is just the minority or a passing phase based purely on results.
The manager clearly has no intentions of playing football in a style that bears any resemblance to the club's traditions - although these have admittedly weakened in recent years. Nonetheless, he appears to be obsessed with clean sheets and defensive stats before considering how the team might actually score.
The Davids do not appear to be forwarding thinking when it comes to managerial appointments. They generally seem to go for pragmatic, standard stock managers. This raises questions over their understanding of the Greenwood / Lyall heritage - alright not always successful but when it worked the football was progressive and fantastic to watch. Sam's approach is a billion miles away from this.
