right. i've rolled my sleeves up and giving this one a crack.

and with some enthusiasm i might add, because i think we'll win. i can't come up with any reason or stats to support this, but there you have it.

anyone travelling to cardiff, i hope to hear you singing bubbles at every given opportunity - it always sends a chill down my spine when i hear it over the commentators on the box.

furthermore, anyone that does travel, i take my hat off. our football hasn't given any reason why the support is deserved, yet you front up, week in, week out. as loyal as dogs, the lot of you, yet get treated like one with the football served up.

i have no idea who is back and who isn't, but over the course of the next few weeks, we should get some of our injured stars slowly returning. what i would give for just one of our star cb's to play this game. all of a sudden our back line wouldn't look so bad, and i'd have ten times the confidence in it.

jussi over adrian for me. he just gives me confide

from the OS

West Ham United

• Andy Carroll is in contention to feature in the Welsh capital after being selected in Sam Allardyce's squad.

• James Tomkins is also back in the squad after a groin injury which has kept him out of the Hammers first three games of 2014.

• Ricardo Vaz Te is back in training but will not feature against the Bluebirds while Winston Reid (ankle), James Collins (calf) and Joey O'Brien, who was injured against Manchester City, are all out of Saturday's clash.

• Kevin Nolan serves the third game of his four-match suspension on Saturday.

I think Sam Allardyce has made a pressured but correct decision to include Andy Carroll into today's squad. A demoralised team needs a physchological boost and Carroll's inclusion whether he plays or not will be extremely helpful to the lads. I'm jus hoping he won't gets injured again after 3 matches and stays healthy for the rest of the season. The team line up looks healthier too and we shouldn't get mugged off 5-0 today...PLEASE!!

Well taylor has made me eat my words a little, put in quite a decent shift in the middle of the park...could still do 5 times better than him in there but he's doing okay. Were controlling the game i believe but that doesn't mean fak all.. as we all know. We can't sit back, we need to go out there and get the second goal, we have lacked finishing teams off all season.

Oh dear Toady

He was man of the match - f ucking everywhere today :D

Some of the negative s hit on this thread before a ball is kicked and during the game is just embarrassing rubbish. Someone even suggesting it's a result if we lose so that Allardyce goes. Cracking support - well done.

i bite my lip on taylor, he gave it his all today.

jarvis still not doing it for me... maybe i just have a set on him i can't get passed.

adrian was excellent. we are a little spoilt with the options between the sticks.

cole

mccartney was in the thick of it, and didn't let us down.

tomkins a yard slower than normal, but that will come back with match fitness.

No true WHUFC supporter would ever want us to lose just so Sam gets the boot. He alone has been responsible for his shocking team selections and formations throughout the season and the buck has to stop with him.

Hell no. He needs to leave pronto.

His brand of footie has never been what we at West Ham are about.

Harry: It's not surprising someone might be a little disappointed Taylor was in the starting line-up because he's been shocking for us. He was brilliant today but it's been the exception rather than the rule so it's hardly 'embarrassing' as you've said to Toady and Castiron.

Lets keep things in perspective, this result hasn't proved Allardyce and Taylor are the bee's knees. He still plays sh1t football, has constructed a lop-sided squad and gets the team playing worryingly deep as soon as we get a lead.

Having said that it was good to see Carroll, let's hope that he can last the season.

I never said that what Toddie said was embarrassing at all.

What Castiron put was something to be embarrassed about imo, that's why I put it. All this negative sh it before the kick off - it's not what we're about is it? There's no perspective pre-match so why do I have to keep some when we win?

As for Taylor

I have more or less stayed quiet all season regarding Sam up until lately. I am not going to apologise for having a go after the s hit that has been served up. That is only one win in how many? I slagged the selection off before the the game, they proved me wrong, somehow. I have supported WHU for 39 years, through thick and a lot of thin, I am entitled to have a pop when I want. I thank you. Ironworks, why was that embarassing? Your telling me that when you looked at the team, you thought that was a match winning selection? Crack on

Easier to wait and see before piling in though I'd say, particularly as I'm struggling to see any massive differences he could have made in the selection. Diame for Collison is probably the only one.

Times like these a bit of support goes further than a pre match slagging - that's my opinion and I'm equally entitled to it.

how taylor gets anywhere near the starting 11 is beyond me...waste of space.

Oi oi ironworks did you not see my post on the second page during the match I picked up on his performance and said...

re: Official Cardiff v West Ham Thread
Well taylor has made me eat my words a little, put in quite a decent shift in the middle of the park...could still do 5 times better than him in there but he's doing okay. Were controlling the game i believe but that doesn't mean fak all.. as we all know. We can't sit back, we need to go out there and get the second goal, we ha

Putting the result to one side, the thing that pleased me most today was that the team seemed to have it's fighting spirit back, it looked as though they have had a major clear the air meeting and thought everybody is slating us so let's go out and fight for f ucking everything.

carroll looked like he was pottering around, and yet positioned himself well enough to be, more often than not, first to the ball. he held the ball up well, and played his team mates in well.

mate, Carroll ain't played since Winston churchill got promoted to sergeant! what was you expecting?
that's exactly my point, dj. even though he still isn't quite fully match fit, he made a significant and noticeable contribution once he came on. i am just saying if that is his contribution at only half match fit, then the future looks positive.

Seriously it was a great win which I never saw coming!

Very tight at the bottom and Fulham look favourites for the drop1
