He was a great soldier and military leader and for that i have great admiration and respect. He was aware of the perilous danger Israil was in and certainly did what in his view was right. i can see why to the stste of Israil he is a hero.

All things are not 'black and white', i'm interested in the suggested 'pissing contest' comparison with Nelson Mandelia. My concern is that Mandelia never facilitated adn supported atrocities as in the massacre of innocent people such as occurred in refugee camps in Lebanon.

Mandelia beleived in peace and reconciliation; when he had the position of strength he sought to hold out the olive branch.

I respect Sharon as a solider and understand how he delieved peace. (the west bank clearly is the strategic border of Israil, loose this and the country could easily be cut in two pretty quickly). Israil has a position of strength however and he has made no attempts to win the peace. Instead he made life harder and harder for moderate Palistinians and 'en
