On the 4th February 1974 an Arbroath team un-fancied but experienced, played Rangers in a Division 1 game [ a precursor to the now Premier league] and came away 3-2 winners. Include that in the team talk prior to the kick-off?B)

I remember that well. I won a pint on the result from a shocked Rangers fan. The highlights are on YouTube and well worth a watch. That was a fantastic Lichties team.

Clash, if you haven't noticed we only have one stand, but it would have been a fitting tribute to Albert Henderson if it had beend after him.

There are 4 stands at Gayfield - 3 standing stands and one all seated stand.

All 4 have been there for decades.

Some people call the south stand the "switchie" stand and there is also the north stand and the "north sea" stand.

You could call the stands the terracing, but they have roof cover and are often referred to as stands.

The ground has a capacity of 5,900. The only seating area is the new single tier, covered Gayfield Stand. The stand was opened in 2002 and seats 814 spectators. The stadium has standing terracing around the entire pitch with plenty of covered terracing at the Seaforth End (South End), the East Terrace and the Harbour end (North End). When segregation is required the away fans get the Seaforth End and half of the East Terrace. But this can be reduced to just the Seaforth End if required. The pitch size is 115 by 71 yards (105 m A? 65 m).
