He's his own worst enemy. He's not played since punching someone in the nuts! If the guy can't toe the line at his age, he never will.
He had the chance to start over here, clean sheet, and be the player he's capable of being. But he's decided to carry on where he left off with his silly antics.

Get rid and let someone worthy wear the shirt.

It's a bit cutting your nose to spite your face, so I'm guessing whatever his crime it must rate as fairly heinous :blue:

Certainly not seen anything of him to date to make him a gifted genius even before this incident, what an arse. He's going to have to pull something special out of the bag when he comes back now to win us all over.

A dust up involving Fonte, apparently..

Doesn't sound good.. :/

Dani Osvaldo has been suspended by Southampton after a training-ground incident which left defender Jose Fonte with serious facial injuries.

The alleged incident took place during a practice match on Thursday and Osvaldo has now been suspended for two weeks by the club.

According to Southampton sources there was blood everywhere after the violent clash during match practice.

Fonte, who is known for his aggressive, niggly approach, had irritated Osvaldo during a high-tempo training session on Thursday morning.

Osvaldo finally reacted and the altercation was described as brutal by one Saints source.

The fight was broken up by team-mates but Osvaldo has been suspended following an emergency disciplinary hearing by Southampton executives.

Not good to hear atall, hope Fonte is ok & hopefully it isn't as bad as it sounds.

Fonte, aggressive and niggly?
Judging by the way he plays his football, those are two descriptions I would never think of attaching to him.

Heard from a couple of people now that it was very nasty with claret everywhere.

If there's any substance to the reports, he may well have kicked his last ball in a Saints' shirt..

Head butt and some fistycuffs - bit of blood drawn, but nothing too bad.

Happened yesterday and Jose was back in training this morning..

Couldn't agree more
I assumed Dani would play on Saturday as it would give him some game time and also the opportunity for Rickie to have a rest.
Whilst it's well know that MP is a strict disciplinarian i think the club are overreacting, these sorts of things happen on a training ground all the time.
At a time when we have 3 games in the space of 8 days we have one less senior striker available for selection and have to rely on Rickie who looks knackered at the moment.
Baffling decision by the club imo

Ps. if anyone suggests Guly can step in instead then they are an idiot

Osvaldo and Katarina would have some beautiful babies together!!!

Sounds like just a bit of a tastier 'clash' that happens in training up and down the country all the time, why the need to leak it?

Rumour has it that this was first leaked by a journo, maybe the club have issued an official statement to clarify the speculation that the hack's piece would've aroused.

Under NC, we probably would've thought that Osvaldo was absent on Saturday through injury, probably.

Like Shotts I thought he'd play on Saturday but after this I doubt he'll play for us again, I hope I'm wrong as I want him to start proving his worth but I can't see it now.

Guly or Gallagher on Saturday for me ??

I would hope there is a limit on the numbers of games banned in his contract. I suspect the current 3 games suspension may have been designed to activate this . We shall see.

In the meantime, play the U21s. We should be safe this season, we don't need any more mavericks/has beens.

Don't know the full facts of course but so far he hasn't earnt his wage and has shown that his temperament is questionable, to say the least.

We should try and cash in but it won't be happening within the next 8 days. So we have a queue for the treatment table and an Argie/Italian international superstar stood out in the corridor, facing the wall with his hands on his head.

Liability it seems.

I don't know about you but to me, Mauricio comes across as-if he wouldn't take any sh1t from the players or put up with stuff like this, which could dent the team morale. Lets hope he can get it cleared up between Jose & Dani ASAP, if not then we might have to think about selling.

It might have been blown out of proportion!

I'm sure Fonte's had worse in the past, although probably not from one of his teammates..

Not sure what happened in this case but one of the stand out things this season has been the team harmony. Wouldn't want that disrupted.

What I heard is it was just a result of a language issue. Evidently Dani had overhead MoPo and the other coaching staff discussing how we could score a few more goals and decided to give it a shot.

Unfortunately what they ACTUALLY said is 'we could do with another Puncheon'.

Forza suggesting that Osvaldo could be left out of Italy's World Cup squad because of the recent incident involving Fonte, and that's on the back of missing the 2013 Confederations Cup because he was abusive to his club coach after a game against Lazio..

He's clearly talented (his goal scoring record speaks for itself), but what a shame his attitude and behaviour lets him down.. - view external link (http://tinyurl.com/o4q8vsj)

Talk of him going to West Ham on loan.

Talk of him going to West Ham on loan.

If he's going to go anywhere (and after listening to Kelvin's comments on Solent this morning, I'm confident he is), then I'd rather see him head back to Italy with a replacement coming back this way - other than getting him out of the building, I see little sense in loaning him to a rival club.

Joffyw

No chance of him going to West Ham surely, thats the paper making 2+2=5, they're in the market for a striker, have just got someone from Italy and Osvaldo ticks both boxes, he'll be off abroad most likely.

Reports coming out of Italy suggesting Osvaldo is being chased by both Juventus and Valencia, with the latter making an offer of around GBP15m.

Complete and utter no brainer, if true...

I'm sure MP would take Gbp 15.00 for him at the moment.

MP has worked with him in the past and it was MP that pushed for his signature - other than let down, I'm not really sure what he thinks of Osvaldo at this moment in time.
