Against MK Dons we had Evans and Grant in the central midfield roles. Osman dropped to the bench.
Initially both Evans and Grant made quite a few hairy mistakes. I along with others was a bit worried. As the first half developed it became clear that with this lineup we were a far better balanced side. Each player knew their position and their job, The 2 centre backs were a lot steadier as they had a lot more room to operate. They could play the ball through the midfield for a change. The forwards were not isolated as has been the case all season. Both Evans and Grant were willing to hold the ball and make runs to link up with the forwards. It was obvious that all the players were enjoying this system and seemed to be keener than usual. All of the players worked tirelessly. Evans and Grant were still making occasional mistake but overall this was a team effort and there was a significant improvement. Went in with a 1-0 lead deservedly.
