Gone on loan till the end of the season. Bit of a surprise, maybe didn't get on with Barker.

To me that's disappointing - he always looks a class above League 2 level. Maybe this is confirmation of RB's 50-games a season requirement for his players?

Where does that leave Craddock and Ferry? :(

Be interesting to see how many games he plays.

He has done brilliant for Pompey, but he very rarely plays now cos of injuries. as he applied for manager at Pompey, as he didnt get the job (maybe cos he had no experience as a manager & Pompey need an experienced manager.) Oxford only has a caretaker now so maybe hes looking for the manager job there.

Connolly must be one of our top wage earners, so will his wages be used to bring in another striker??? very surprised to see him go, but someone did mention the other day that Barker and Connolly didn't see eye to eye, maybe it was sour grapes from Connolly when Barker got the job that he wanted, when DC played he was a game changer, just hope we don't miss that!!!

Rumour has it that he was reluctant to train on astroturf(allegedly)and this surface is all we have available during the present weather conditions ,Mr Barker believes if you shirk training you don`t play

His attitude in training was terrible (apparently) and he wanted to be our manager and wasn't happy when Barker got the job (apparently)

Not surprising to see him leave, especially to Oxford who are currently managerless.

He isn't fit enough for us to miss him that much. Jervis and Taylor should do a decent enough job up top for the rest of the season.

Agreed. In the games I have watched this season for me he has either been absent or ineffectual.

Defo no great loss for me. Rarely plays and barely fit.

Oxford's stand in manager Micky Lewis said after their win:

David Connolly is 36, hes got great ability and all that, but he is prepared to run in behind people to get the goal.

It was the right run at the right time and he took it brilliantly.

I thought he showed what a class player he is.

He added: Hes got a reputation as a really good player, so all the lads know that.

But when they saw him in training for the first time it gave everyone a lift.

Wonder what our players think about it ? :blue:

He wouldn't train here so in effect he wanted out.
Move on I say.

Hasn't played well since accrington away at start of season which is a true reflection on his contribution this season.

According to some Oxford fans around here he tried his ass off when he come on Saturday. Linked up well with Kitson apparently. :(

Scored in the 78th minute giving Oxford a 1.0 win at home over Hartlepool. Whatever you say about him he scores goals

Unfortunately him leaving has put us in the position we are now, I do not think we would be in danger of relegation if he was still at the club
