FFS, the transfer window has only just closed, yet here we go again.

"Tottenham plan to resume talks over the possibility of signing Ukraine winger Yevhen Konoplyanka later this month, according to the Daily Mail.

Reports in the British publication suggest that the Premier League outfit are considering several transfer targets ahead of the summer and hope to capitalise on Liverpool's failed attempts to lure the £15 million-rated Dnipro star to the Premier League during the last few days of the January window.

24-year-old Konoplyanka joined his current employers in 2006 and has gone on to become one of his country's biggest stars, with 35 international caps to his already along with a period of stellar form at domestic level at Dnipro-Arena.

Liverpool were evidently very keen to bring the versatile attacker to Anfield last month, but Brendan Rodgers' hopes of striking a deal were scuppered with it being reported that Dnipro's owner failed to sign the necessary paperwork ahead

And Liverpoo were the only club in talks with him and, they still couldn`t sign someone called, Comeonyaplonka. ;)

Not surprised by this, given we play against him on Thursday.

"Tottenham are being linked with FC Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk winger Yevhen Konoplyanka once more as they are expected to battle Liverpool to secure the Ukrainian international in the summer.

Liverpool came close to signing the 24-year-old on transfer deadline day but the deal fell through and although they are expected to return with a bid in the summer, it has happened the door for Spurs to move in.

Konoplyanka slotted home a penalty against Tottenham in their first leg Europa League clash on Thursday night leaving Spurs with it all to do at White Hart Lane next month.

The Express reports that Tottenham are hoping Konoplyanka can be a replacement for Gareth Bale who they have been missing this season since his world record move to Real Madrid at the start of the season.
