They have been trying to tie him to longer deal and he refused to sign it ... That's why he was sacked

Not sure why he took the job in the first place unless he expected to "do a Cloughie" which nowadays is unrealistic with a 20,000 - 30,000 club ( in the European Cupn days we often had 40,000+).

Overachieving last season probably meant both parties would be disaappointed this season - Laudrup realising that no further improvement was possible, and the Chairman (as they often do) expecting year on year improvement. A bad and puzzling combination !!

Think there is more than meets the eye here. Papers were saying that there was discontent from players, about slack training methods and his interest in the Spanish recruits.
The word "mafia" was used to describe the split in the camp.
Think he upset some in the hierarchy as well, by jumping off to Spain to see his daughter for a visit, right after a defeat. Again the players moaning, that Laudrup never seemed to do any opposition home work and his eye was always else where.
Paper talk I know, but some thing wasn't right.
I think he only wanted them as a stepping stone any way, that's why he wouldn't commit.

But Swansea's chairman has been very good with his managerial appts - just take a look:

Martinez, Rodgers, Sousa and Laudrup, all improved the team.

Will his luck hold? But to change now very wrong, should have done 4 weeks ago. Swansea are still not in any real danger
