Great keeper and getting better, were scouts watching him on Sat? Apparently he's worth 1 million already!!

Some good comments from SD on the OS today. Very pleasing that he talks about Ben's maturity, especially when he is in front of the home fans at Wolves and Bradford. Also very pleasing is that SD notes Steve Phillips's role in coaching Ben.

So we have a new No 1; a good coach/emergency keeper; and now all we need is a good a third. Should this be a youngster of our own, or a more solid character who is prepared to be second choice and fighting for first?

For me, it's perfect as it is right now. Why get a 3rd keeper in on a permanent basis, and then see him get as frustrated as Al?
If we need a keeper should one or both of Ben and Steve get crocked, loan one in. We then still have Robbie Johnson as cover on the bench.
Just don't see the point of ****ing off a keeper who's stuck on the bench all the time!!

The whole idea of competition for places is a myth anyway. If you're not playing well, you get dropped - simple!
And if that means being replaced by a loanee, then so be it. Still gives the one dropped a kick up the backside whether we have that 3rd keeper or not!

Interviewed on RS tonight...Steve Davis has dropped his plans to sign a keeper right now as Ben is playing so well. Obviously if his form dips or he is injured /suspended, then the emergency loan option is always an option. Garratt deserves this latest respect from the manager.

Latest in the Sentinel is that SD could move for a couple of guys on loan. This is, he explains, to provide cover for injuries and loss of form.

The article explains that SD is keen to have 3 keepers at the club, even though Garratt is proving to be worth his place in the team (injuries to Garratt or Phillips is the reason given) and the Fulham keeper is mentioned here (Etheridge). Davis is also still chasing a winger.

SD chasing a winger? He would have had trouble catching a winger when he was in his prime, never mind these days :D

Maybe that's why he plays Pogs there. . one winger he could catch!!

so when Garrett is away with England as he will be

who is in between the sticks then

need a winger unless Byron ups his game and plays for 90 minutes - not 20 here 20 there
