I doubt many have been sold yet and why bother buying beforehand when you can pay on the day.If we muster 1200 for this we'll be doing well.

Far to expensive in my opinion at £22 for adults and the senior citizen band does not kick in until aged 62, so that leaves me out in the cold.

Knowing our dismal away support we might reach a 1000.

We would take more put Vale fans keep alot of Crewe fans away because of the 'trouble'. If you get a coach there your 100% safe.

Happened once, I was on one of the coaches that got hit. This was before we got a police escort to and from the stadium. People need to pay the money and get behind the team and help create atmosphere for the lads.

I have been to the ground in Burslem twice and felt intimidated both times. That 'atmosphere' I can do without - and taking the coach is a non-starter as I would be travelling the opposite way.

I will, however, be going to the U21s in Derby, and the next evening to Stevenage. I think that's enough?

Isnt the whole point of supporting your team threw thick and thin to be there for them on derby day?
If you feel intimidated, surely just sit and the back of the stand and get behind the lads. If you keep your self to your self you'll be fine.

Decent away following at Tranny :? so why not at the Vale too?

700 for a big relegation battle is not a good following. Teams like Oldham, Bury, Stockport, Tranemere. All have similar if not smaller home crowds but for alocal game would easily take 1000+

Our away support back when we were in league 1 and even the first season in league 2 when we took 1600 to Shrewsbury was miles better than it is now. People have just loss faith in the Alex

No it isn't.
I have supported the Alex 'through' thick and thin - and an awful lot of thin, unfortunately - for not far off 60 years. I go to watch football to enjoy the game, the spectacle etc. I, along with every other fan, have the inalienable right to choose which games to attend.
Derby games are clearly important, but this one is as important as every other game we have to play before May. It's special, but not crucial. If we were 5th and Vale were 4th then it would be a different matter, but I still probably would not go.

If you support your team through thick and thin, a derby day comes under that. I cant believe you would go Stevenage on a Tuesday night (All be it a more important game) than you would driving a similar distance to Stoke. No wonder we take poor numbers.

We've sold 650 so far.

Crewe Alex twitter posted an update a few hours ago. Make of that what you will. 2 more days of selling plus pay on the day, should see a 1000.

Whether you're going or not AL - I don't understand the reasoning behind putting posts that might put people off going to the Vale?! The brick incident was one incident that happened once, years ago!

Anyone who is free on Saturday, get yourself down to Vale Park. The lads need you! The more we take, the more noise we can make, the more the lads will be up for it.

UTA!

Apologies if my comment about feeling intimidated puts anybody off. That's a totally personal feeling.

Everybody who can should cheer on the Alex wherever they are. In my case, I pick and choose the away fixtures to suit me. On the vast majority of trips I have had intelligent chats with 'home' supporters; wished each other well; and then gone on to cheer the Alex. After the game (even at Leeds and Stoke) I walked back to the car through thousands of their fans.

This Vale game is *****ly important ... as are all the others until the end of the season.

Admittedly it can be intimidating. And if you don't fancy it, fair enough. Good to see you travelling to Stevenage on a no doubt cold and wet Tuesday... I will see you there :D

Saturday is a derby game and it is no different to other derbies played between other football clubs. There are always going to be a few kn*bs around at this sort of fixture. Keep yourself to yourself and you will be fine.

The more Alex there, the safer it will be. Safety in numbers and all that ;D
