I just cannot believe what I've read in this N&S article about an idiotic woman who screamed racist abuse at four black men in Carlisle.

What, I ask, has the fact that "She has a disfigurement herself" got to do with anything? Is Mr Smith saying that he considers black people as disfigured, because I can't interpret it any other way. This is utterly outrageous.
Although absolutely no excuse whatsoever for doing what she did, at least the stupid woman was drunk at the time. The fact that a defending solicitor would make such a comment in a court of law at a sober time of day is totally inexcusable.
Imagine being one of our black players, picking up the local rag up here and reading that. How would you feel
