I would have brought Big Pat on far earlier than time added on but I am not RB of course. I have never been a Beattie fan but to be fair he has built a decent team with very little resources. Enjoyed the chants of Scummer, Scummer what's the score though ;D

2nd half was the best we've seen for a fair while, Jervis wasn't a lazy git last night. He worked his socks off & deserved his goal. Big Dave in the middle was outstanding, Padovani-oh dear.
Shorey, Chorley & Alfei decent in defence & Drennen was excellent.

The official verdict was that this was an EM match. Dire in every detail, except that Accrington "offered nothing" and Pompey "very little".

But we DID get the 3 points, which is the whole crux of these matches against lower status Divn 2 teams.

Bonuses: a headed goal, no less and a belter against S****horpe. After a "Take 5", we kept a clean sheet.
