BoB meet in Torquay - July 2014

Looking forward to seeing you all in Torquay. Lawrie and I intend to get down there for about lunchtime on Friday. We will probably have lunch at a pub I know in Shaldon before moving on to Babbacombe for a visit before getting to the hotel. I'd suggest we all meet in the hotel before heading into Torquay for a few beers. The Hole in the Wall would probably be a good starting point.

Well fellow BOB's only tonight have I tied up the lose ends...beset with one or two problems along the way but everything in place now at last. My problem was a co-worker had already booked Friday July 4th which I was absolutely gutted about. I only work for a small firm and the management have really clamped down on two or more pple being away the same time. This meant instead of travelling down Friday and spending a whole weekend in Torquay I have to wait till Saturday 5th. About 5 weeks ago I went to my travel centre to book up on National Coachways and they could book me up for the outward journey but not for my return as the computer wasn't showing booking info :( told me to reurn in a couple of weeks and it was only this Saturday i was able to make the booking. I am in Torquay to the Thursday so I will have Saturday evening and all day Sunday with you till you return. BUT Im here and remain the only BOB with 100% record of these meets! Bring it on!! B) Tonight I booked up with

When we had the BoB Meet in Weston (better known as the Power steering problem Meet) Dudders brought along a case of special beer and handed out a bottle to all who attended; well i think Mike is going to bring along a pair of these special BoB shoes for everyone! We can do yes. It will mean going back on ourselves, but it is nice and scenic so why not. Alternatively, we could actually take the more direct route in to Torquay, so the run over to Shaldon will be via a different route. Shaldon is only approx 8-10 miles along the coast Road (20 mins).

If you head for Teignmouth and go over the bridge towards Shaldon when you come to a sharp right hand bend (only a few hundred yards) there is a left turn into Shaldon village. Follow the road through the village and you will see the pub on the right overlooking the estuary. If you cannot find anywhere to park in front of the pub there is a large public car park at the end of the village opposite the Ness Hotel.

This information is from memory and from about 10 years ago, so hopefully things have not changed too much, e.g. One way systems or the car park now being houses etc etc. Either way we will be there from early afternoon as I know the pub is still there. :D

Back from IOW now, we walked the entire coastal path about 70 miles in 5 days, the weather was fantastic so very enjoyable.
