Jagielka unlikely to be ready for Arsenal Cup tie.
In this morning’s press conference Roberto Martinez stated that it was unlikely that Phil Jagielka would be fit to face Arsenal on Saturday.
While the Everton boss has not given up all hope of him playing a part in the tie, he did say that if the game was tomorrow, Jagielka would not be ready.
Jagielka has already missed the West Ham game and yesterday’s International game with Denmark due to a hamstring injury.
It is likely John Stones will continue to deputise at centre back in Jagielka’s absence in what would be the young defender’s biggest game of his career so far.
Aside from Jagielka’s absence, Everton are thought to have no fresh injury concerns with Kone, Gibson and Traore the long term absentees.
