I think we have a chance to vote for some nobodies that will ride the gravy train to Brussels in a few months time.

I'm a big anti Europe fan for many reasons and have never voted for any of the main parties and have swung between voting Green or UKIP as a protest.

Do you bother to vote and if you do are you prepared to say who you vote for and why (and you are allowed to say Tory without being shot down by the reds ;) ).

I never used to miss a vote because our for fathers fought to get it but these modern day politicians are just doing it to feather their own nests and i can't bring myself to vote anymore.

That said I do think it should be compulsory to vote in all elections as long, as there is a box which stistipulates non of the above.

The Labour part of a waste of time, they're not socialists any more, they're just people who can't get into the Conservatives !

They have a leader called Edward, but shortens his to Ed so he doesn't look too posh to his prospective voters !

The Lib-Dems haven't got a clue what they are doing and had some many stupid policies in their manifesto that they couldn't back up when they got into joint power.

We have a massive problem with immigration in this country, I'm sick to death of walking around the Bull-Ring bumping into women dressed from head-to-toe in 'devils pillar boxes' who can't speak a word of English and the other foreigners who are always banging on about how great India/Pakistan/Poland/Albania/Etc/Etc is, but they won't stay in those poxy little countries will they ? - they choose to live here. So if you listen to what UKIP have to say they do talk some sense, however they have some complete loon's in their party and if they ever got into power they'd probably bring

Bongo, I hear you. But, whilst the vote remains your one and only shot at having your feelings registered every four years, you really ought to get out there and vote. Even if it is only to show respect those that have fought to keep our country free and democracy in its current form alive.

Vote green, vote monster raving, vote spoiled ballot paper - you should make your presence felt.

Don't waste your vote. Seriously Bongo you're over 40 and voted once? Don't complain about how things are when you waste your chance to have a say. There are more than two parties to vote for. Just for once I wish folks would say **** you to both major parties.

Ditto Oz. Unless, where I am living, it is a tight run thing between a Tory candidate and Lib Dem or Labour, then I will vote for whichever of those parties is most likely to keep said Tory out. (Can you tell I'm a fan? :D )

Bongo, I know it can seem like a wasted vote, with the main candidates being the front runners, but if there is another candidate with policies you agree with (eg Green), it's still worth voting. The more votes the smaller parties get, the more notice the powers that be will have to take if they want to woo eg Green or whoever leaning voters. Brighton got a Green candidate into Westminster in the last election too.

Nuc, I'm not anti European Parliament in principle, but I do have concerns about the way it is run, and the amount of money that is frittered away. I tend to agree with Arran however, that the UK Independence Party has become a haven for thinly disguised
