Crewe Alexandra FC have announced they are to float on the stock exchange in a bid to create new investment in the club. A club spokesperson has said:
"We initially aim to float 100 shares at a competitive price of 10p each. In this way we hope to secure ten pounds of new investment into the club. We hope to invest the capital in new facilities as there is a metal rail outside the main stand that is in need of a lick of paint. We are determined to bring 21st century facilities to the Gresty Road faithful. If the initial floatation is a success we could look to release another 50 shares, as a seat in the main stand has a loose screw. This clearly shows that the club has a bright future and is investing in its most precious commodity - its fans".
