Now that we're confirmed as top 6 and probably top 5 and the finals et of fixtures have been announced that should clarify financial projections somewhat. Given that hopefully we can now start to negotiate with players for next season. Rumours suggest that Stephen McManus may be about to sign another year's extension.

McManus would be a great one to kick off the signing campaign. His capture might encourage a few others to stay.

Their is big differences i think been wrong a few times recently by reading rubbish but their is a gap of over 200k between 2nd and 3rd and then think it is about 80k a place after that so if 2nd would get 280k more than 4th so still need final placings to work out budget but would still like to get some signed up sooner than later

I'm sure I've read somewhere recently that this year the gap between 2nd and 3rd is about 244,000 pounds

I'm not sure if the amount available for 'Net Commercial Distribution' is known yet and without a main league sponsor it's bound to be much reduced from previous years. The money will be dispersed according to the table below.

So the 2nd place club earns 16% more than the 3rd placed club.

League Position Percentage Share
1 13.40%
2 9.60%
3 8.25%
4 7.25%
5 6.75%
6 6.25%
7 5.75%
8 5.50%
9 5.25%
10 5.00%
11 4.75%
12 4.50%

Any extra money generated by league positions being ahead of plan will go towards the 180,000 operating loss for last year and compensate the directors digging into their pockets to fund McManus and McFadden. There will be hee haw to spend because if we get into Europe that's another financial disaster. Any new players will need to be funded by players leaving. The expected departure of Hutchison will certainly give us the chance to try and build a solid defence especially if we can re sign McManus. I have a feeling others SPL clubs might be sniffing around Ainsworth so wouldn't be surprised if we lost him too.

The usually reliable Scott Burns tweeted McManus has an option in his contract for another year and he wants to take it - so that's a boost.

I also think we'll struggle with Ainsworth - he may take the long-term view that another solid season somewhere he's finally comfortable is preferable to a quick cash boost at Aberdeen or Hibs, but we all know how often footballers think like that...

According to Scott Burns, Stephen McManus has an option for a further year at the club and he wishes to exercise that right.

Aware scored some stunning strikes but personally the loss of Ainsworth nothing to fear as often goes AWOL
Posted before he could do much more if utilised the pace for which we purchased !
I doubt others will be looking as like Higdon last year, came to nothing

McManus would be a welcome acquisition and IMO McFadden will sign unless a lucrative contract USA offered.
Correct to think Reid only until summer ... offer him a contract as surprised many since signing.

Surely players lower leagues worth a punt .. have Rangers got any ? XD

Be really pleased if Mac stays. As an earlier poster said I too wouldn't be bothered if Ainsworth left; of late he's become pretty lame IMO.
