another reason to hate Gartside, this will be for a pittance as well compared to what we have thrown away, Reebok was a sponsor ok but it had its roots in the town as it was founded here, Macron has nothing to do with our heritage, plus people have known no other for this stadium,it should always have been the Reebok, it maybe should have been called The Middlebrook Stadium in the first place, It will probably be called the Payday loan stadium next year if Gartside could get more money, this club has gone to pot >:(

I'm disappointed.
I can see why somebody in their 30s+ wouldn't give a **** but it's always been The Reebok for some of us. It's not like your typical "new ground",d after a company with no affinity to the club at all. Reebok started their business in Bolton over a century ago.

Whether it's a good business move is a separate matter.

If this is for a pittance & i suspect it is then im disgusted but not the least bit surprised, we've now no roots a clueless manager a shyte team a joke of a sponsor a massive ever increasing debt and a **** of a chairman and an owner who makes the venkys look like bill gates & alan sugar, can we have administration instead anythings better than this, id choose a double demotion to league 2 anyday if it meant we could wipe the slate clean & be rid of davies & gartside once & for all:( :( :(

Gartside is a disgrace, and what about the Reebok Rebels ,they will all be out of a job, he just doesn't care about the lives he ruins :blue:

Apparently, this is what Gartside said back in 2003. - view external link (http://www.lancashiretelegraph.co.uk/archive/2003/05/26/5901288.Chairman_s_new_Reebok_pledge/)

I think that was before we became the 5th most indebted club in world football. XD

I bet if we were still in the premiership Reebok would of stayed with us but now we are an average championship side no chance!

Personally I couldn't give two shoites!!!

Once a club sells the naming rights to a new stadium how can anybody be surprised when market forces (from the side of either the club or the sponsor) dictate that the sponsorship comes to an end??

If it means money coming in rather than nowt then so be it.

Only thing that confused me was that I thought that our deal with Reebok lasted until 2016? Maybe Reebok had a getout clause if we are not in the prem? Maybe summat to do with Reebok now owned by Adidas and Adidas don't want Reebok associated with football anymore?
