I've watched the Prisoners, Captain Phillips and The place beyond the pines, I thought they were all cracking films and are well worth watching.

Are there any decent films you've watched recently?

Just a couple, not new ones but...

Dead man's shoes - fantastic film, could watch it over and over. Paddy Considine is amazing in this movie.

District 9 - fantastic ironic story using aliens to tell story of apartheid and greed. - view external link (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=58ylrJ0cH2w)

For me it was a bit hit and miss, some of it had me laughing out loud , but most of Steve Carell's bits didn't work really . Worth a watch if you liked the first one, the jokes are different but the same if you know what I mean. I liked it but wished it was better.

The three stooges, no not eddie phil & doogie but the picture from 2012 thought they did a good job of curly larry & moe & a funny 90 mins of slapstick, used to enjoy the old stooges

"Life Of A King"

Black man. Ex-con. Teaches badass kids to play chess. Etc, etc, etc

A bit of a predictable film but a very good "feel good" movie.

I started watching Lord of the Rings the other day.

I'm only half way in as I prefer to watch films in tiny bits.

Struggling to get into it. Might not be my sorta thing. Any LOTR fans?

Nope. Can't stand them. I've tried, I really have but I just don't get them.

Watched "Woman In Black" the other night. Saw it at the cinema when it first came out and it scared the fkin sh1te out of me. Nowehere near as good on TV but still a brilliant film!!! Well worth seeing and can't wait for the sequel which is currently being filmed

Anyone here seen Sunshine on Leith?
It's a musical set to the music of The Proclaimers.

I very much enjoyed it (despite it's anti-English overtones)

Hadn't realised until recently that the song has been adopted by Hibernian fans as their club song. There's a great clip on You Tube showing them singing it after winning the Scottish Cup Final a few years ago
