As it had been three months since I'd contacted Simon Boynton at Footymad's parent company, I have emailed him again just now.
Strange 'cos it is there when I preview a post (like now) but disappears when posted, which suggests to me that it only needs a slight tweak and it is cured.
Reading between the lines, it suggests to me that this site is run on a shoe-string budget and there are not many people who can sort this out. >:(
