After slagging off (and rightfully so) the current line up on the Carlisle United board, I remembered how much I liked the first two albums, some proper quality gloomy stuff on there, 'Food For Thought' is ace.

The music that The Specials, UB40, The Beat and others were producing at this time still stands up well today.

While they are still alive, the origional line up should get together, have a scrap and remember that they are all skint like they were when they started and go out and do a 'Signing Off' tour and a 'Present Arms' tour.

I would pay 35 bar to watch that.

I were allus told I looked like that bellend Campbell when I were younger. Which actually weren't a bad thing, cos it got me me end away in Torquay (x2) and Corfu.

I suppose I still do, except he's about 25 stone these days while I am a reasonably svelte 14 and a have.

That's a great story Floppy - I would have gone with it and started singing with The Birmingham Salvation Army, sort of what UB40 really are.

their first album was very good, especially side 1

i thought they went downhill pretty quickly after that and should of been harmed in some way for doing "red red wine"

i have now got the chorus of "rat in mi kitchen" stuck in my head

When they first started out i enjoyed their music but as soon as covers became bigger hits than the self penned songs i went off them, labours of love or not...

An UB40 FRED without an appearance from the resident deadbeat.

hmm why would ff or Ali Campbell for that matter want to put on a Dudley accent when he was born in Brum .. a totally different accent as you well know B)

message for Buc Did you know that Ali,Robin & Duncan are the sons of Ian Campbell the late Scottish folk singer ?
