Apparently contract talks are stalling due to what Wolves want to pay and he wants to be paid. It's said he agrees to a pay cut but disagrees with how big the pay cut is. It's also rumoured that Boro are showing interest has he is out of contract at the end of the month.

you guys that see him week in week out please tell me, is he worth keeping ???

From what I have seen at this level He seems to want to play football the right way but appears prone to gaffes ( but not as bad as Neil Collins )

Sweeney, mate, IMO this lad has served his penance. During the past season he showed that he has the heart of a wolf, but does, perhaps, need a little longer to satisfy the fans. Sometimes, his lack of finesse when making important tackles has been cause for concern, however he is rarely found wanting when courage and endeavour is required. Unfortunately and I think, unfairly, many of us associate him with the 'poison' that infected Wolves not so long ago, however, if we are to be perfectly honest, during the past season he was one of a back four who were largely instrumental in bringing glory back to Wolves. As a former Premier League player for Wolves, I think the lad has earned the right to make reasonable bargain for his future with our club. Personally, I think it would be a mistake to let him go at this stage.

Impressive season in what i see as his natural position. As a central defender, he reads the ball well and also can bring the ball out from the back. Like all players, has a mistake in him. I hope Wolves manage to convince him to sign a new contract. The 'boro link has been dismissed by their local paper and sources close to the club.
