Everton eye free agent.
Everton have become the latest club to express an interest in signing free agent Costel Pantilimon, following his Manchester City exit.
The giant Romanian goalkeeper, 27, was recently released by City, having played his part in clinching the Premier League title last term.
Pantilimon has a number of options from both home and abroad and the Toffees are the latest club to ask about his situation.
Goodison boss Roberto Martinez is concerned that his paper-thin squad will be stretched to the absolute limit next season with Europa League football on the menu.
The Spaniard still retains faith in his first-choice goalkeeper, Tim Howard, although he feels he may still need to add extra experience in that area, with youngster Joel Robles still learning the ropes.
Pantilimon would be especially keen to stay in the north-west region. The 6ft 8in stopper, however, is making it clear he wants to be a number one, which is proving an obstacle for many teams.
