I know he's from Hudderfield but some sites have got his nationality listed as Austrian and his does sound more Germanic than English, could he get a call-up if he does well in the Championship? :D

Well he's on Wikipedia under notable Austrians in the UK, sounds like his Dad is Austrian.

Yeah he is a great player for league 1 and 2, but the championship is different gravy.
So hopefully he performs well.
As for the Austria call up, the Bayern comment is right, trying to take David Alaba's place will take some doing...not impossible though!

Now if his Dad was from Liechtenstein he'd be an international.
