It is with sadness that I learnt of the passing of Edward Gough Whitlam 21st Prime Minister of Australia yesterday.
He was a giant of a man who brought great change and reform to Australia.
I am normally averse to socialism but the socialism and idealism that Whitlam espoused is the kind of ideals of a better society that we all wish for.
Australia is a better country today in no small way to him and his 3 years in office cut short by a wrongful dismissal of his Govt which had a comfortable majority in the House.
