Wolves legend Eddie Stuart passes away

Stuart became one of the most decorated players in Wolves history as part of the League Championship successes in 1954, 1958 and 1959.

He was an unused squad member for the FA Cup final win against Blackburn Rovers in 1960, picking up a winners medal.

As I have mentioned on this site before, one of my earliest memories of The Wolves is of Eddie Stuart 'glistening' with perspiration under the Upton Park floodlights in November 1959.

RIP Eddie - you made a great contribution to Wolves history.

RIP Eddie in typical Football fashion an Injury or in this case a loss of form ( at just the wrong time) cost you a Place in a victorious FA Cup Final an accolade that along with your 3 league titles you would have richly deserved.

When you watch the history of Wolves when Eddie is talking you can see what a sensitive, well spoken, humble man he was. It really comes across his love of Wolves and the emotion he felt by missing the 1960 F.A Cup final really due to his race.

RIP Eddie. I sometimes wish I could have been a bit older so I could have seen that golden team of the '50s.

Was lucky enough to have seen Eddie play when I was a kid. Great full back.
