In the penultimate game of the season, Charlton succumb to an away defeat against Birmingham.

In what Guy Luzon described as his worst performance since he joined the Club, cannot take away from Birmingham's well deserved win or the gallant efforts of Stephen Henderson who kept the deficit to one goal after a string of saves.

Robert Tesche, twice, and Diego Fabbrini spurned openings before Substitute Lloyd Dyer scored on 82 minutes lashing a 20-yard shot past Stephen Henderson.

David Cotterill hit an upright and Henderson saved superbly a Jonathan Grounds' header late on.

Tony Watt was involved in Charlton's best work when he was twice denied by ex Addicks GK Darren Randolph. He also set up Igor Vetokele whose shot was again saved by Randoph.

Charlton stay in 10th, with Birmingham a place lower on goal difference.
